Make abortion legal or illegal.
Take into consideration public relations, cost and manpower, America as a model for the rest of the world and where does the final responsiblity lie.

Leave RELIGION out of your answer please, we dont need a lecture of the bible. I'm sure most of us already heard it. It will present nothing new.

Well, we know that only 7% of abortions occur because of rape and for life-saving reasons. This has been proven. If this is true and we really want abortion to be "safe, legal, and rare" as former President Clinton said, then why not close all abortion clinics and leave it to the hospitals wo take care of the 7%. For the other 93%, we need more crisis pregnancy centers equipped with ultrasound technology. The Pro-Life federation of my state (PA) is already doing this and it has shown a marked decrease in the number of abortions. I say if it saves one life, it's a good thing.

Quite frankly, I don't see how abortion helps women. Did you know that rape victims who have had abortions often seek counseling many years later for the abortion, not the rape? (The logic is: with rape, someone hurt the woman, with abortion, the woman hurt someone else).

The Pro-Life movement is all about love. Yes, there are fanatics who talk about murdering abortion doctors. That is not love. That is not productive, nor a solution. 2 wrongs do not make a right. The solution is to reach out to women in crisis pregnacy situations. Encourage adoption for hopeless situations.

One last note. I answered without bringing religion into the argument. But please allow me to say--as a member of the Catholic faith--abortion is not wrong because the Church says so or because the Bible says so, abortion is wrong because intentionally killing innocent life is intrinsically evil. Same goes for stealing or screwing around on your spouse.

if the government prohibits the abortions it causes the illegality of making it and harm the women health. I'm from Russia and abortions here are legal like any surgical treatment but before making it the woman must give specimen to make sure that nothing dreadful would happen. Some doctors (A little part of them) objected. But money plays a great role here. i think it's a question of choice and a woman is more responsible than any others. I don't know statistics but I think there are a lot of women who make abortions are not ready to have a baby yet

Forget that concept and force people to obtain a license or permit to have a child .
Those who become pregnant without a license shall be jailed and the child raised to work for the nation .
We force pregnant law breakers to have the child to provide services for the nation .
Make the sentence a stiff one like 5 years for becoming pregnant illegally in this nation .
Have a reward of $20,000.00 for law breakers who become pregnant without a permit in this nation .
In no time at all people will learn that parenting is a right granted by the nation and anyone who violates the law is severely punished .
Since most problems are the result of our genes we need to come up with a screening test to determine who can reproduce and punish those who transgress the law to provide a better nation ..

It's a states' rights issue. The national government shouldn't be involved at all. Let the states decide.

Leave religion out? Ha. That's funny because think how great things would be in our country without a lawyer on every street corner.
Abortion is murder.
Lawyers are selfish sharks.

There is no logical choice for a government on this issue, as whatever they decide will cost them voters.
