ive been sick since wed. night. Yesterday I tried a bunch of home remedies to cure my upset stomach but I think it made it worse. I have only vomited twice but am still in a lot of pain. I've restored to eating dry toasted whole wheat bread and 7 up and water and green tea. Is there anything else I can eat or drink to make me feel better? I have to work tomorrow from 9-4 and i've been there for only 5 months and dont want to call in sick if I can help it.

Do you have a fever? If not, you should go to the doctor immediately. If you do, it is probably the flu, which should be improving soon. Peppermint tea can help settle the stomach. So can ginger ale. If you do have a fever and you're over 18, take aspirin (with food or milk). If you're under 18, take tylenol. Drink lots of clear fluids. Drink vegetable bullion if you have it, chicken broth if you are not vegetarian. Eat mild foods--toast is what I always eat when sick. The doctor can give you antivirals if you go soon enough after onset of the problem, but you may have to just wait this one out. Flu can last from 1 day to maybe 6 or 7. If vomiting is a big problem, you can get medicine to help that from the drugstore. Airborne is great to boost your immune system and help you fight the sickness. Take it when you first begin to feel ill and it can prevent this from happening. If you don't have a fever, you could have other problems that will require a doctor visit.

If you're vomiting, especially if you have diarrhea along with it, go to your local emergency room. You could easily become dehydrated. and experience electrolyte imbalances. There are also medications that stop nausea and vomiting, but you need to see a doctor for a prescription. They can help yo get through a day a work. Some natural medicines may help if you're feeling a little queasy. They do nothing for food poisioning, and very little for viral and bacterial gastric problems.
