The existence of god can't be proven or disproven.
Therefore, atheism can't be proven or disproven - by the big bang theory or anything else.

Scientific proof requires something called "falsifiability". Basically, it means you have to be able to do some experiment which, if it turned out a certain way, would prove that your hypothesis is false. For example, the theory of gravity is falsifiable: if I let go of some object and it doesn't go crashing to the ground, then that would prove that the theory of gravity is false. (Yes, there could be special circumstances, but let's not quibble: you can see the point).

Thus far, nobody has come up with an experiment that, if it turned out a certain way, would disprove the god hypothesis. Therefore, the god hypothesis is not scientific.

This doesn't mean that god exists, or that god doesn't exist. It just means that the question can't be settled with the scientific method.

First off the big bang theory itself violates the accepted laws of physics and thermodynamics and can't be proven. Secondly every time someone has tried to model the big bang they've failed until they gave the program certain underlying principles that guided the way the various materials came together to form the universe.

According to modern science energy can neither be created or destroyed; it can be altered but everything that ever was or is has to already be here. yet the big bang theory states that out of nothing suddenly matter and anti-matter converge and create a massive explosion. Where did the matter and anti-matter come from?

The Big Bang theory cannot be proven and neither can the existence or non-existence of a god or gods. As Scientists are so fond of saying great claims require great proof; there is evidence that galaxy's are moving away from us but there isn't a single shred of evidence proving it's the result of a massive primordial explosion.

The truth is scientists don't know and can't explain how the universe came into being and are just guessing about the whole big bang theory.

There is not a way to prove that there is a God or the opposite.
But I really believe that the theory of Big Bang is something that matches with all the religions theories.
What does the Big Bang theory talk about?
It talks about the creation of universe suddenly. It has also been created from nothing, there was nothing before that.
Almost all the religions of the world say that there was nothing and the God created the universe.
It seems to me that the religions were trying to symbolise the truth in a way that human of all eras could understand it.
My opinion is that the big bang theory reveals that the religions are not so fictional.
I would like to add something more:whatever happened in the Biig Bang it is sure that happened because of some laws of Physics and mathematics. The question is who created those laws!

PS: I am sorry for my terrible english!

No. The uncertainty principle, which was found by scientific experiments, proves that God is not necessary to explain the Big Bang. The Big Bang was caused by energy that had randomly gathered from the superposition of vacuum fluctuations and had accumulated enough mass density that it was enclosed by an event horizon. Once the energy was thus isolated, it changed phase, creating quarks, leptons, photons, space and time in the process of changing. The smartypants religious people who assert that the Big Bang proves the existence of God are merely showing their ignorance of science.

The big bang requires a finite universe.
A god mandates an infinite universe.
The universe at one time did not exist and sometime in the future it will cease to exist.
I guess it doesn't disprove atheism.

No; all religions have creation myths, none of which match the observed facts. The big bang was neither big (miniscule), nor a bang (no matter present), but came about because most galaxies are receding from each other, so where did they come from? It is just our current best guess.

Actually most of you have it wrong, it isn't possible to prove God doesn't exist, but it is theoretically possible to prove that he does. So if you know 99% of what exists in the universe, God could be in that 1%. (The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle implies it is impossible to know %100 of the universe). Likewise if God pops up and announces himself, then poof, he is proven. So therefore Atheism could only be "disproven" but not proven.

No, it provides a logical basis for atheism.

Theism is logically inconsistent, physically unbased and has obvious roots in a human need to explain the things we don't understand by conjuring up imaginary deities.
