Time is the 4th dimension that is dependent on other things. If you were to get in a rocket ship and approach the speed of life time would slow down for you, and stay the same for everyone on earth, so you could actually live hundreds of years longer than someone else, but it would only feel like one lifetime to you.

Time is the fourth dimension. In physics, we often use term space-time. The earlier thinkers like Newton and Aristotle believed that time was independent off all other physical factors. But Einstein, in his theories, stated that time was affected by altitude, speed,gravity... A detailed description is given in "A brief history of Time" by Stephen Hawking.
Indeed, Einsteins theories were later confirmed through experiments.

Time is a human invention. Without humans the Universe would exist timelessly. We can use time to describe how long it takes for the earth to spin on its axis (night and day) or to orbit the sun (year and seasons) or for your wife to get ready, in witch case a clock is of little or no use at all. Wait a second........

I can give you the economics of time, but not the physics or philosophy of it. Time is money; ask Bill Gates and he will tell you "if you have money, you don't have time; if you have time, you don't have money". It is a kind of inverse-proportinal relationship!
