first you have to enroll at the post office, you will recieve a letter, and then you have to verify on-line. on the election day, go to your local poll both, and they will have the details there, basically, you can choose the prefereces and put them in order.

Simple, you go to the nearest polling booth between the hours of 8-6 tomorrow (march 24), you give the nice people at the desk your name and address, they give you a ballot paper, you walk to the booth and you put a cross in the box next to Labor. If you accidently put it next to Liberal, you'll have to scribble it out. Then you go and put it in the ballot box and you leave.
It is that simple.
If you want to do preference votes, you should grab a few pamphlets on the way into the polling booths from the people handing them out outside.
I take it this is the first time you have voted? If so, you have enrolled haven't you? It's not automatic, when you turn 18 you must fill out an enrollment form from the post office.
