6 years the USA had a Republican president and congress. Six years of bigger, fatter budgets, no legislation to reduce the "size of government", and a whole lot of people running for office in '06 saying "no new taxes and smaller government". What a joke, I think Republicans have to try harder at creating a message, because this one sounds old, tired, and hollow!

No politician is for smaller government. They all expand government's domain. Republicans have been worse since they expand government more (think back to the Reagan/Bush/Bush years) and they claim to be against it.

Not all republicans are concervaties or loose that idiology when they get to Washington. They get overwelmed in the "big government" that we let happen years ago. Ever notice the bigger the government gets the worse things run in the real world that is run by government? We will never ever lessen government at this stage of the game. I just hope whoever becomes president has the smarts to keep the tax cuts we allready have and extend them and even expand on them. If not we are gonna be in deeper dodo as common citizens then ever before. If we let this government take over the managment of the Sahara Desert it would probably run out of sand in 5 years. But one thing for the republicans at least they are talking no new taxes, the ones running for the democrat nomination are promising tax increases! Makes me shutter. We already pay way to much as it is!

Conservatives want smaller government and less taxes. The reasons the Democrats are in because Conservatives did not vote because of the out of control spending buy Republicans. It was not anything special the Democrats offered . The proof being their first 100 days. Those that can;t legislate, investigate.
