The Ink Indicator display shows the cartridge as empty after I have just filled it. There must be a way to reset this. Any ideas?

How does Canon know I have refilled the cartridge? There must be a detector on the cartridge that tells the printer so it could be disabled. How?

It is smart chipped, and there is no re-setter for canon chips, they are highly encrypted. You need to buy new ones.

The chips is found on the bottom of the cartridges, or is embedded into the copper contacts on the rear.

canon detects you are using refilled cartridge and will not allow you to print with refilled cartridge
