This is what it shows when I try to open my device manager. :
this application has failed to start because MFC42u.DLL was not found. re-installing the application may fix this problem.
So.. what do I do ??

Another problem! This is what is says when I try to play a sound file.
bad direct sound driver . please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration. error code: 88780078

Also, it seems there's a lotta virus ,trojan,missin files,spyware n' u name it in my pc. So.. can u suggest a free software which would identify and eliminate it all.. OR.. a site that would do it for free.. along with the elimination.

DLL is :Dynamic library link
it's a windows system file..u have to download and to copy it
(it seems be damaged due a virus or missed during the initial Windows installation)

on my Xp MFC42u.DLL is located at "both" in
"C:\WINDOWS\system32"
1-so u have to copy dll at the first emplacement..and see!

Download the file from here:
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?mfc42u
and copy it to windows..
