As far as I'm concerned, a cadence is a chord progression in music. You get perfect cadences, imperfect cadences, plagal cadences and one other which I can't remember. So since when has it become a girl's name? Are you ging to start calling your kids Treble Clef and Minim and Eflatminor too?

I know this word from horses

the flow or rhythm of events, esp. the pattern in which something is experienced: the frenetic cadence of modern life.

the general modulation of the voice.

A rhythm,a pattern.

Like a Trotter,or a Tennessee Walking Horse.

Think about all what you said in the soul rhythm of life and how you imagine a girl named Cadence to flow through and, or with it. Cadence, yes deals with music, but it also deals with the flow of life itself. I would name a daughter Cadence, because I would wish for her to deal with life smoothly and rhythmically as to roughly and harshly. We name our children because of attributes a certain name holds.

Cadence is a beautiful name, no? Yeah, it's a beat and all, but hey, people name their kids harmony, melody, spring, summer, autumn...there's a lot of people in the world, you don't want them all to have the same names. We've lost our imagination and have started naming kids after words and spelling things with complete disregard to phonetics.

I happen to love the name Cadence! It's regal and strong. I like it spelled as Caydence of Kaydence when used as a name though, to make it different from the word cadence.

I so agree!! My sister is naming her baby due next month Kandence and I dislike it too!! My hubby is in the Military and I always thought a cadence was the thing they sung when they marched around.

I'm with you! The moronic name trend has to end, these poor kids! Please, parents to be: Think of your child going through life with a name they will be tortured over.

It's not about you! You may feel really cool telling all your friends you named a poor defensless baby "Julius Cesar" but the poor kid is going to go through hell.

Use your head!!!!!!!!
