I am desperate, but this desperate. I applied online at Home Depot. then went there today and gave the HR guy my resume.
He said all he had right now was 10:00pm to 6:30am full time.
he said or I can wait and see if or when something other comes available. He said think about it. Meaning he wants someone who (wants) those hours? I am not a kid anymore and honestly don't know if I can last those weird long hours. I am a night owl to an extant but 3:00am I am getting brain dead.
What do you think??? I should do?
Is it possible when you're 50 to handle those hours. or killer?
oh, also. Do they give you like a break in period? ie: if at 3:30am you're dead, will they let you leave, you know until you get used to the graveyard shift? do they have like a break in period?
Thanks so much !

I used to do the graveyard shift at a hotel (11pm - 7am) and it was great, I survived somehow on Redbull/Proplus and Cappuccinos although eventually I totally got used to it. It kills your social life but you don't have to do it forever, plus you usually get paid more for doing that shift. Basically you're working without the hassle of having to deal with people. If you do decide to do it, don't expect to get to leave early just 'cos you're tired. If they think you're not up to it you will get sacked..... I always looked at it as being an easy job at the wrong time of day so it kinda balances out. If you do manage to get a break, do yourself a favour and DON'T FALL ASLEEP - you will feel **** when you have to back to work. When you get home, only have eight hours sleep and you'll feel alright for it. Guess routine is the way to work this.

Home Depot Late Hours

We don't know anything about you, only you do.

So I'd say work those hours for a week or two, and if you're still uncomfortable, quit!

I have worked at Home Depot. The guys who work graveyard shifts pull heavy stuff around, arrange them in the aisles, etc...It's repetitive, but not so bad after a while.

And yes, it is possible to handle it if you're 50 and NOT in the flooring aisle.
