I sent a Sony TV to a London address 29/12/2006 by Parcel Force it was tracked No SN0101494 to London West LD depot at Concord Road Acton London at 04.35 on the 30/12/2006 and then disappeared.
I phoned the local Parcel Force office at Perth and spoke to the manager he said he would try and trace the TV, He told me that the depot at London was burgled on the 31/12/2006 he said he would look into it that was on the 4/01/07 he then sent me a claim form the next week which I fill in and sent to there claim office in Glasgow on the 10/01/2007 It is now the 02/03/07 I received a letter to say that they received the claim.
Am I entitled to the full price of the TV it was new and never out of the box
I Have recieved a cheque for £150 as full payment.
Can I claim the full amount as they let my parcel be stolen.

You should write to them asking for Compensation as a 'good will' gesture = you might also be able to claim from their Insurers.

Assuming the amount is less than £5,000 (as I recall - better check, it may be a lower limit) you can sue them for the rest in the Small Claims Court. It costs about £37 to file a case.

A lot of big Companies will pay up rather than waste Management time defending the case. However I would expect Parcel Force to be sued quite a lot over lost parcels etc. so they may well employ some-one whose only job is to defend every case :-)

If they defend the case, you will have to prove Negligence - for example if they left the door open or handed the Parcel to some-one without checking their identity

So I suggest you write to them asking them for the Police Reference number and details of their Insurance so you can find out exactly how the theft occurred (and ask the Inusrers to pay)

If you took extra insurance out when you sent the parcel, I would expect you would be able to. If not the payment due to you is £150.00. It does state this in Parcelforces terms and conditions.
