We keep pets as companions! Dogs, snakes, cats, birds, horses, lizards, turtles, fish, hamsters, rats... I could go on! As long as an animal is not illegal to own, then you can have almost any animal as a pet. Some people like the responsibility of owning a pet. Some people think of their pets as their "children" if they don't have any kids, and some people just keep pets as a hobby (it's best to do this when you know you can afford and have the room to keep multiple pets). And just because we have certain animals as pets, doesn't necessarily mean that they are "cleaner" than wild animals. If you don't take care of your pet properly, they can be VERY dirty. Some animals are naturally dirty and we still keep them... ex. Pigs or Cows who like the mud and muck. I hope this helps answer your question.

Wow it sounds like a zoo in there. I have two cats and I can barely keep up with the amount of poo that somehow comes out of their little bodies everyday.

Our 3 year old cat named, Sundance, when my wife first got the cat she thought it was a female, that was until she checked, that well known special area. (Before she knew the cat was a male, she took pictures of him with a dress on, she claims, (my wife) that he looked cute, in the dress, while the cats expression on his face was, mommy???...... don't you know that I'm a boy kitty)
