no excersise for at least a month, your midwife will tell you that, you could start blood clotting, i did when i did too much housework when i had my children, just wait a while longer, i dont know how you can even think about this after just having a baby, where do you get your energy from

When i had my baby i was told i could do light exercises after a week or two, I know that all you want to do is tone and get back your pre pregnancy figure but sit ups are not advised until after you have had a six week check with your GP. This is because the muscles can seperate and you need to be sure you wont be doing yourself any serious damage!
Why not try body brushing and a toning cream or gel for now? Also i had a body wrap at a salon and that helped the skin on my stomach to tone itself! Good luck with the baby and enjoy being a mum!

Everyone has different ideas about this. As long as you had a normal delivery, and have passed the 'rec check' - usually about 6 weeks but everybody is different - (http://www.babycentre.co.uk/baby/youafterthebirth/exercisepostbaby/isbodyready/ ), I would say when you feel ready but start GENTLY!!! Your body has been through enough these last few months, and if your tummy muscles haven't come back to 'normal' you can do more harm than good.
Take it easy, and take time to enjoy your new arrival - your tummy muscles will still be there a few months down the line!

Not applicable if you've had a Cesarean birth:
**Once your pelvic floor is strong enough again, and once your tummy muscles have regained their pre-pregnancy position, then, you can do appropriate tummy exercices (sit ups aren't recommended, unless you fancy having lovely post-birthing stretch marks)..
If you do tummy muscles before your pelvic floor is back to normal, then you risk being incontinent at 40.
I've given birth 3 months ago and although my stomach is flat-"ish" ;-), it still feels flabby and like you I can't wait to have my pre-pregnancy body back but, I know that my patience will be rewarded with long term good results... so hang in there and good luck...

You must wait at least 6 weeks, when you where pregnant the muscles in your stomach split and it takes at least 6 weeks for them to go back to normal.
Dont over do it though.

I wouldn`t suggest sit ups for the monent , you have to give your abdomen time to heal and everything else inside has to get back to where it was etc .. Give it a month or so...
Congratulations on your little bundle x
