There are many educated people in the Philippines. The percentage of college graduates is quite high!
The guy who said that had never been to the Philippines yet. Is he a college graduate? Filipinos usually have 2-3 courses!
Did he know that our nurses competes globally all over the world? Our nurses are in demand in the USA, UK, Asia. Some of them are in Ireland, Australia, Dubai and other countries. Did you know that the nurse of Superman is a Filipina?
LEA Salonga and other Filipinos had invaded Broadway already. Miss Saigon is such a hit and many Filipinos performed! She had been awarded in the Tony awards.
Manny Pacquiao won over Mexicans in his boxing fights.
Martin Nievera and Lani Misalucha had invaded Nevada and they are watched by foreigners!
Prostitutes are found not only in the Philippines but all over the world. It is only the tip of the iceberg. The person who made the comment is definitely not a TRAVELLER and hadnt been in the Philippines.
Many Filipinas had won in international pageants. We have 2 Miss Universe, Gloria Diaz and Margie Moran. Melanie Marquez was Miss International. Ruffa Gutierrez was 1st runner up in Miss International.
Our nurses, pharmacists, doctors and teachers are at parr with other graduates in the world. They are mostly in the USA.

None of you all should take this personally, there are prostitutes in every country and it is an oldest profession. I know many Filipinos and some are very good and some are not. So take with a stride my friend and Filipinos are talented musicians, hardworking domestic helper, a honest security guard and caring doctors, an intelligent architects and many more. Look at the brighter side than listen one man opinions.

It is just a wonder who voted his answer as the best considering it was only with 1 vote. Could the Yahoo answer team have anything to do with this?
It happened with one of my first questions over which I didn't choose an answer. I wouldn't have minded their choosing one except that they chose one with the least answer and the one I provided as an example yet. It leaves a question then on the ability of the team as monitors either individually or as a team.

For once, he was just chosen "best answer" not by the asker but by just "one" voter who probably like him, doesn't know a lot about the Philippines. Some pervert foreigners know other Asian countries as the place for prostitutes because they are pervert, they don't research about other things or facts and they just based it on what they are after for or look for in a place. Although, of course being married to an American, not all of them are like that.
I don't think we should take it personally because there's pervert people anywhere, even in our own country.

But seriously, I will refrain from passing any judgment on this guy for the simple reason that some really don't know any better. And more often than not, it is up to those who do to just extend the understanding needed, whether acknowledged or not.
And let us not forget that sometimes we too are guilty of saying some things that are along the lines of his comments. I'm not trying to justify the reason for his action because to reiterate my point: WE KNOW BETTER...
