I am 45 and still on the pill. My mother had her change at 44, my friend at 44 is on hers. Do you still have the change if you are taking the pill, or does taking the pill prolong the change. I long for the day when I don't have periods any more

The pill will not delay your menopause,but it may mask it. At 45 I would thing most doctors would be getting unhappy that you are still on the pill. (in smokers we get anxious at about 38!)

If you switched to something like the Mirena coil, it can be used until the menopause and has the plus that it often produces ammenhorrea anyway. (stops periods)

It's very possible that you could be starting to go thru the change now although you are on the pill. I would recommend checking with your dr to be on the safe side. Perimenopause can start as early as age 35.
