Does anyone know of something my wife can take to dry up her breast milk quickly? She's weaned our new baby already, and wants her boobs to get the message.

How about giving that milk to baby ? It's SOOOoooooo important for both of them health-wise!!!!! Was she having problems? Has she talked with a La Leche League Leader or a Lactation Consultant?

She should avoid stimulating her breasts if she doesn't want to make milk anymore. Drinking sage tea can help, as well as wearing cabbage leaves in her bra. She can take ibuprofen for any discomfort. Use cold packs for any engorgement/swelling. She can also talk to the doc about taking Sudaphed to help dry herself up.

But really.....if you have a "new" baby....that baby REALLY needs that milk!

Your wife should call her OB to discuss options. I know that there is a medication you can take to help you dry up, but cannot remember the name.
