All my friends are so caught up in their planetary minds, with an image of the Earth shaped like a soccer ball. So can anyone help them wake up?
My question is, IS soccer the best sport?

The answer is no. Of course, if you don't live in the USA, you'll probably love it. If your friends are not Americans, that might explain there love for it. They may still love it if they they are Americans, but it is not a popular sport in the USA.
I only mention this because the rest of the world always seems to insist that America is either wrong, silly, crazy or whatever for not embracing soccer like we do football, baseball, or basketball. They never seem to take into account that the USA is a surrounded by two oceans and was separated from the soccer crazed nations when soccer was being popularized. In that time, we developed our own sports. Other countries had soccer spread through European colonization and a lack of homegrown sports. So, Argentina will be soccer crazed, but the USA will not.
So, if people like soccer, so be it. If you don't, just don't. But, don't buy the argument that because the rest of the world loves it, we should, too. It always seems like the rest of the world cares more about the USA not liking soccer than do Americans themselves.

I wish I could meet your friend because '' WE BOTH THINK ALIKE''. To answer your question; YES,soccer is the best sport but that does not mean people should play only soccer because some other sports are also very GOOD. SHARP.

I love soccer because it can release you from the daily grind of life, help you make friends and get fit.
To the rest of the world soccer (football) is far more important then that. It is a game played in almost every country and it unites all soccer fans and players alike. In a world separated by wars, religion and ethics it is the one thing that can save us. It gives hope.

personaly I think it is the world's most popular sport because it is EXTREEMLY simple to play
and basicly all you need is something to use as a ball and 2 things to use as postes

Not only is it the most popular, but also one of the most physically demanding sports ......if not the most demanding.

Of course it is, other sports were only invented so that girls and americans could be good at something and feel better about themselves
