For over two years I have had severe itching down below. Initially I was diagnosed with thrush and given treatment by my GP. I continued to have flares over the next year. I then went back to complain to my GP about the continual symptoms. I was swabbed and the swab came back negative for thrush. I decided to go to the GUM clinic and get tested in case it was anything else. All of the tests came back clear. I have tried wearing only cotton underwear, yogurt, dietary changes etc but to no avail. Any advice, I'm so frustrated.

Tried changing washing powder, eating habits, cutting out dairy, bread etc. GP checked for lice and none. There is no smell, my labia gets swollen and I've had two cysts which have been checked out and have gone of their own accord. It is a total mystery and I feel like my GP is so not bothered! My husband and I are trying for a baby and it worries me that I have this and it could be affecting my fertility. Any other ideas! I'm desperate to find out what it is and get it sorted. Not been checked for diabetes, but don't have nay of the symptoms. Thanks for all your advice x

Itching in this area can indicate diabetes - you do not say if this has been checked by the doctor. Another thing which could irritate this sensitive area is washing powder. Have you tried different washing products. Hope you manage to find a solution soon - it can't be pleasant to suffer for so long.

Could you go back to the hosp and ask them to run more tests? It sounds like a thrush but if the test came back negative, it must be something else. You could try salt water baths as an interim measure.
