So I haven't had a period in about 4 months but...(!) someone very wise (and who has been known to accurately predict this sort of thing 9 times outta 10) told me a couple of weeks ago that i was going to get pregnant very soon. Well, I am a lesbian you see, so I just laughed.. well, now listen to me brothers and sisters, on st. pattys day i ended up sleeping with a guy. and deciding i wanted to again the next night. and the next. 3 nights. sober. just something made me want him. I didnt use protection, since I trust him and i dont get my period.. then i thought of what the sage said.. and im scared. i dont really want a child right now, honestly. I guess my question is, would it be humanly possible for me to get pregnant even though I havent had a period in so long? Also how long should I wait before I take a test? Sorry for the crazy epic story.. thanks fer your help :)

Hi there, can understand your anxiety.

The good news is that the actual odds of you being pregnant are pretty low, but the bad news I guess is anything is possible.

You said you first had intercourse on St Pats and then again a couple of times afterwards - that's not even a week ago yet, so even though several posters on here seems obsessed with telling you to take a home pregnancy test the reality is there there would be no point at this time just yet, it wouldn't tell you anything anyway, even if you had conceived.

My best advice is to wait until 2 weeks after your last session of unprotected sex and do a test at this point. If it comes back negative (and I'm sure it will) then wait about 3 or 4 days and try again. If this also comes back negative then there is a good chance you're in the clear. But if you're still anxious at this point, a trip to the doc for a quick beta hCG test should tell you everything you need to know.

If by some miracle the sage was on the button and you find yourself staring at the thin blue line, a trip to a clinic as soon as possible to confirm it with a blood test and then a heart to heart with a professional, no moral prejudice counsellor to discuss your options is the best way to go.

In the meantime, I know this is easier said than done but try not to get yourself too stressed out because you'll start to imagine all kinds of pregnancy symptoms that really, even you are pregnanct, won't be there yet, it's just too soon. or worse - delay your period even further.

I hope everything works out for you.

It is possible. I got pregnant with my daughter after not having a peroid for 3 months and this pregnancy I hadn't had a peroid for about 2 months. Just because you don't have a menstral cycle doesn't mean that you are not ovulating even though it does make the chances slimmer. Take a test in about a week and you should be able to find out. Use the first pee of the morning. If you do get pregnant think about it for a week or so before considering terminating the pregnancy or anything, the idea tends to grow on ya and plus being a lesbian isn't this easier than adopting?

Wow. I thought my sister was the only lesbian to get pregnant lol. Anyways,Since you haven't had a period in four months who knows when you would be ovulating. It is possible to ovulate even though you had no period. All you can do now is wait a month and then take a pregnancy test. You should really make an Dr appt because there could be something wrong if you haven't had a period in so long.

Well if you haven't had a period in 4 months, there is a good chance that you have not been ovulating either.
It is way to soon to take a test now. It takes anywhere from 5 to 12 days for a fertilized egg to make its way to the uterus and attach to the uterine wall and quite a few more days after that for your body to start producing HCG.
Right now it will just be a waiting game for you. You probably wouldn't get an accurate HPT for 2-3 more weeks.

ok while you're that almost being 18 you do no longer would desire to concern approximately "the authoritative figures" getting you besides the actuality that your boyfriend is older. only be certain your state legislations.. (Shockingly i found there's a 4 twelve months rule in Missouri wherein i'm, wherein an 18 twelve months historic can LEGALLY be with somebody as youthful as 15 years historic) .. besides the morning after pill many times tangled up your menstrual cycle. you will would desire to never take that different concern than two times a twelve months, btw. it could extremely mess you up. I completely recommend you bypass to planned Parenthood and start off on the pill. that is lots greater safeguard.

I say wait about a week and then take a Early response. and when u purchase, get 2 so u can retest in another week to make sure. Goodluck on whatever outcome u desire. And I would advice against abortion if u are!

You can still ovulate even if you don't get a period. So you could take a test 2 weeks after st pattys day.

Whoa!

As the others have said it's not likely you are pregnant but life's weird sometimes. Wait a few weeks and try and HPT and then take it from there.

Changes are you'll be fine - next time you might want to consider a condom!

P.s with the clear blue test you can find out as early as 4 days before your missed period, thats how i found out with my pregnancy now i am 11 weeks.

It could be possible for you to get pregnant although you haven't had a period for so long. (it really depends on the cause behind it... i.e. scarring of uterus vs. stress) I was about to tell you to get tested one week after your missed period, lol, but then i realized you wouldn't know when that was because it's been awhile since your last... So your safest bet would be to wait one month from the date of intercourse in order to get tested.
