Have you seen DOA: Dead Or Alive which was released last year? It was directed by Corey Yuen who also directed So Close. It also features mostly female lead actors dishing out the martial arts moves so this could be right up your alley.

I like old school martial arts movies. Zatoichi is great. But "Master of the Flying Guillotine" is my all time favorite.

Bai fa mo nu zhuan (1993) aka The Bride With White Hair
The sensitive swordsman Cho Yi-Hang is tired of his life. He is the unwilling successor to the Wu-Tang clan throne and the unsure commander of the clan's forces in a war against foreign tribes and an evil cult. One day, he meets the beautiful Lien, a killer for the evil cult who is equally unsatisfied with her situation, but their love angers both the Wu-Tang clan and the evil cult.
Brigitte Lin queen of Wusia...shines in this beautiful film.
----------------------------------------------
Xiao ao jiang hu zhi dong fang bu bai (1992) aka Swordsmen Two.
Enter...Invincible Asia...a swordsman who takes on the ultimate kung fu. To handle the tremendous energies of this style he must castrate himself to allow the change to female for only that body can handle the stress of such power.
Enter...Ling...a student from the Blue Mountain school of martial arts, who, along with fellow students and Kiddo, find themselves embroiled in a country-wide political/clan war with the Highlander clan in the forefront of the battle...the leader of this clan being Asia the Invincible who possesses supernatural power bestowed by The Sacred Scroll
The stage is set is now set for the climactic final battle pits Jet along with Kiddo, Master Wu, and his allies against Invincible Asia and her forces.
One problem...As Asia moves from male to female...under the tremendous forces released by the Sacred Scrolls...H e stumbles across his mortal enemy...Ling...while he is practiucing his art. Asia of course recognizes Ling.....but Ling only sees a woman in front of him...and both arch enemies begin to take a liking to the other.
What happens when Ling finds out...?
this is one of the finest... off the wall...over the top martial arts adventures of all time...beautifully filmed...with Brigitte Lin as the Invincible Asia and Jet Li (before his long string of martial arts hits) as Ling...and a kung fu experience you will never forget. Avail yourself please.
----------------------------------------
Shinobi (2005)
Think Ninja Scrolls done in live action...add another clan of Ninja's....add a forbidden love affair....and pit both clans against one another...to the death...raise the bar for martial arts action up ten notches...and you have Shinobi...
The greatest Ninja Action movie of all time.... all that and a story too.
Enjoy.
