I don't mean to generalise,as most drunks are generally pleasant 99% of the time but it's just those loud, demanding, show off drunks who want to be your friend that drive me up the wall. Why is there at least one in every group of friends?

I used to share a flat with my best friend.

Every time she drank she became loud, abusive, nasty and used to make sure that any secrets were made common knowledge. She regularly ruined nights out, and if she was out without me she would bring people back and party loudly all night when I had work the next day.

When she was sober she was great, but no amount of pleading on my part could persuade her to stop drinking, and in the end her character even started to change when she was sober.

I realised that I couldn't trust her any more, after she told all my secrets, told lies about me when she was drunk, and lashed out at me every time she had few drinks. In the end I got fed up with the abuse. I found myself somewhere else to live and tole her I didn't want any more to do with her.

I still miss my best friend terribly, but I am relieved to be away from the monster she turned into after a few drinks.
