alright some guy at the auto shop told me i need to replace the idler pulley on the ac belt, which i believe the idler pulley is on the timing belt so i call mitsubishi for price quote and they say idler pulling for timing or water pump? i look aat my diagrams for the belts and do not a water pump running on either of my serpentine belt, does it exist? what i think it is is two tensioner pulleys, the mechanic doesnt sound smart but i ve been looking at diagram for a while and it is the top middle pulley in between alternator and crankshaft, what is it called? thanks.

The water pump is turned by your timing belt. If your water pump fails, it can really ruin your day. If your tech doesn't know this stuff, go somewhere else quickly!

The top middle may just be an idler on the 3.0, but if you can't tell by looking at it, take it to someone else quickyl!
