Earth does all the work starting from revolving around the sun.
If the earth does not revolve just there will not be days / week / months / year ; it will be either dark or bright sunshine all the time.
Earth provides us all the raw materials that we need in our day to day life. Where does water come from? Food grows on soil which is in this earth.
Earth is a process and we are a result of that process. If no earth then no process then no living beings like tigers, plants and of course human beings.

I suppose some work is done pushing the Moon into a higher orbit. The tidal bulge exerts a slight force back on the Moon which is causing the Moon to slowly spiral out from the Earth a few inches a year. The energy to do this comes from the rotation of the Earth. The Earth's spin is slowing down as a result. In millions of years a day will be 25 hours long.

Yes. The Earth does do a very small amount of work as it orbits the Sun. The work is actually in 2 parts; friction against the solar atmosphere, and tidal losses within the Earth-Sun system.
'Space' in the vicinity of a star is nowhere near a perfect vacuum. In fact, man-made satellites need to have orbital corrections made to prevent their orbits from decaying and allowing them to fall back to Earth. In the same way, the Earth suffers 'orbital decay' as it orbits the Sun. But the Sun will go Nova long before Earths orbit decays enough to allow it to drop into the Sun.
There are also tidal forces at work. Again, very small, but there. Just like the tidal forces that cause the Moon to slow in it's orbit around the Earth (and, incidently, cause the rotation period of the Earth to decrease slightly every year).
Bottom line; No perpetual motion machines âº

Friend,
The Earth is a living planet in solar system.
That which is not live, can not create life.
The entire beautiful ,colourful Nature you see around you, the forests , the animals and all the living creatures are existing because of earth's life.
as revolving planet it gives us day and night.Because of its Gravitational force it keeps the atmosphere intact and provides us oxygen which is vital for our life.It provides space for us to live, food for us all to eat and survive and gives us all the natural resources like Gems.Metals,Coal,Oil etc etc.
Because of its rotation around it self, and around sun, and because of moon's rotation around Earth we have beautiful moonlight, full moon.
The Earth bears us all.So we call it mother Earth.
What more shall earth do?
It cleanses the polluted water, it cleanses all the dirt we make on it.It has such kindness in spite of our misusing it.
Let us keep it Clean and try to protect us by protecting the Earth

No, Earth is not doing any work because it is revolving around the sun. since it is revolving so
work done = f * cos90degree* displacement
but cos90degree=0
so work done = 0
that's why earth is not doing any work
