Bush is very obviously a figurehead, for the disturbing Project for the New American Century, but you can tell just by looking at him. But are all other candidates basically a figurehead for some agenda, or do they actually have some deciding power of their own?

I would say yes, they basically all are figureheads - the last "real" prez we had was Kennedy, and the powers that be who really control things killed him, because he was planning on doing a few things that they didn't approve of, like change our money system, and pull us out of Vietnam. Ever since then, what we've had is a "shadow government" where the people who actually make the decisions you don't see ever. Bush is a little more obvious about it than some. He obviously follows a script at all times, and has his schedule planned out by his handlers.

Well I wouldnt exactly referr to George W Bush as a "figurehead" because it implies that he literally did nothing. I think that he may have gotten some things done that didnt get played up that well and possibly that there were things that were going on previous to him that he may have been an impediment to. Its probably more of an issue of pace and perspective than anything else.

Ummm that would be an absolute no. All the former Presidents had a job to do and that's run the country. Hasn't anyone noticed that all and I mean all the men that have been in the White House even if just 4 years go in with dark hair and come out completely gray? That's the stress of the positon that color-codes their hair.
