When you are convicted and sent to prison, or any other correctional institution, or if a warrent is out for your arrest, you automatically give up your rights to assistance from any public benefits program.

Once you have served your time it is possible to reapply or have your benefits reinstated. There are two exceptions, You will be considered permanently ineligible for Food Stamps if you have been convicted of a drug-related felony after July 1, 1997. You are considered permanently ineligible to receive works-assistance if you had a felony drug-related conviction anytime after Jan.1, 1998. Although you may be ineligible for works due to a conviction, your children can still qualify for aid.

I can't speak for California law, but in Texas a felony conviction doesn't disqualify you from public aid if you are otherwise qualified.

If you have a warrant you make application at your own risk. Best course of action would be to turn yourself in. Fugitives don't get good health care, and you need it if you are having a baby.

Not if you have a warrent... They will not "hide you" That is like calling the cops and then they run your id and boom... Your best bet is to turn yourself in and maybe they will feel sorry for you since you are prego, and give you less time!
