Generally, because you are a parent. He's wanting more freedom, you aren't willing to give it. He wants to be "grown up" but he really isn't just yet. He sounds like a 17 year old to me. You will survive this, just like the rest of us have. Good luck.

you're a parent, he's full of hormones doing crazy things to his mind and body, so you're the enemy. I went through a similar stage in my teens (although had snapped out of it by 17) and even though i said i hated my parents I knew I loved them deeply and still do.Just talk to your son, this phase won't last forever

this has happned to me and my mom 5 times every week. Its jus normal, i dont noe if ur similar to my mom, but shes VERY overprotective, in public she tries to hold my hands and it makes me very embarassed and i stay away from her. Wen i dont get things my way, i jus automatically get angry. Somtimes i dont like her for how she treat the helpers. And she keeps saying stuff about my frns, it annoys me so much. And wen i write this and think bac, i feel guilty.
this wil change, it happens to my frns and i.
