You feel guilty probably because of what you've learned or been told by others. Its seen as "dirty" or a "sin" and others may tease you about it if you talk about the subject. Everyone denies doing it and yet everyone does it. I don't know how old you are but its normal and can be consuming if you're in puberty and discovering these feelings for the first time. Its normal and natural and nothing to feel ashamed of.
As for it being an addiction, no one can judge that but your and/or your doctor. You can indeed talk to your doctor about this stuff! And you should if you feel you can't trust anyone else. Its hard to talk about, sure, but you can even write down what your concerns are and let the doctor read it. This will open the conversation but they will start it and that's a relief in itself. A doctor will talk openly and bluntly about it as well, so be prepared for that.
I really recommend that you talk to your doctor or a counselor. Its hard at first but once you've done it, you'll be glad you did and armed with knowledge that could help others as well.
Hang in there and try not to worry!

You probably feel bad because of all the old wives tales you have heard about how masturbation is bad and all the bad things it will cause. As long as not taken to excess there is nothing wrong with rubbin your nubbin. I've been doing it for more years than I'll admit to and yes, i need reading glasses but have no ill effects from it. Stop thinking good girls don't do that and enjoy all masturbation has to offer. Have fun.

Many people feel guilt after they masturbate, whether for moral or religious reasons. The bottom line is that it's perfectly normal practice.
BTW I think every guy in the world is addicted to masturbation.

funny, today my little sister was telling me about a boy at her school that masterbates and his mother grounds him for it. she has also tricked him into thinking your hair grows a certain way on your arm if you do it, anyway back to your question, masturbation is actually a very healthy thing. I would never tell a kid, teen, adult, to not do it. it won't do anything wrong to you. you may feel guilt over religion or something. alot of lds people don't believe in it. they think it leads to other things. my oppinion is I'd rather have my son masterbate then be doin the real thing and ending up with a child. there is nothing wrong with it, your exploring your body and finding things that feel right. don't feel guilty about it. your only human. everyone has done it before

There is nothing wrong with mastrabation. In fact, not mastrabating can lead to an over-active sex drive, though this is more a problem with men.
Enjoy yourself.
As for the class thing, that is also normal, just don't touch yourself in public. But you already know that.

We have been told from a very early age that it is "dirty" down there, and not to touch ourselves. You are probably still subconsciously remembering those lessons. Masturbation is a perfectly normal, healthy thing for women to do. Relax and enjoy yourself.

do you really want to know the answer, or are you just wanting to find out if it's the same for other people? i'll assume you want to know the answer...
after many years of wondering the same thing, i finally figured it out. God designed us in such a way that sex binds us emotionally to whatever we are thinking about at the time, another person, a pretend person, an object, an animal... if it's something other than a person that a person becomes sexually and emotionally bonded to it's called a fetish... sex outside of marriage will make us feel guilty, even if it's sex with ourselves, because that's the way we're designed. it has nothing to do with "cultural conditioning" as some will try to tell you, because even people who live in cultures where such things should be very acceptable will feel guilty. God designed us to know right and wrong, and our conscience tells us when what we're doing is wrong.
I hope you really wanted the answer, because i'll probably get flamed for telling you.... like i said, i only found the answer after many years of searching, because even in "Christian" circles many people will tell you to just get over it.

its guilt, there is no reason for you to feel that way, dont buy into religion, thats all a bunch of crap, you are normal when you do it, and its far better than sex where you can catch something or end up pregnant.
