does anyone know why U never hear or see anything in the media about the people that played Dr. MCcoy, Spock, Chekov, Sulu, Scotty, Christine Chapel and of course Star Trek's Divine Diva : Nichelle Nichols :). I mean this is or was a very popular show! I know William Shatner is in the abc show Boston Legal, but I dont think he is the star of the show. He doesnt really have alot of parts in that show. He also had that game show " Show me the money" which was very short lived. I really liked that game show I was very disapointed when it ended. But its not like u ever see pics of him in mags. Hes really not in the media as much as he should be. well I guess hes not as famous as he used to be. I guess. well thanks for the info :)

hey darchangel_3 I take it ur a very bitter person. I didnt ask for ur stupid opinon! ur answer sucked to. Deforest Kelly (Dr. McCoy) and James Doohan (Scotty) are now deceased, unfortunately. I do see Nichelle Nichols on TV from time to time. Leonard Nimoy (Spock) does a LOT of voice-over work for science-type documentaries. Majel Barret Roddenberry (Christine Chapel) did the voices for all the Enterprise computers (including the original show). I don't hear much from George Takei (Sulu) or Walter Koenig (Chekov) these days, other than the relatively recent coming-out-of-the-closet of Takei. Mark Lenard (who portrayed Spock's father, Sarek) also passed away a few years back.

DeForest Kelly (McCoy) and James Doohan (Scotty) have passed away, Doohan just recently - and his ashes are being sent into space.
George Takei runs marathons, has his own website, and came out as being gay last year. Leonard Nimoy published a book full of nude female photography a while back.
These guys and the rest of the surviving cast keep showing up at conventions, which can be fun. I passed up a chance of having my picture taken with Shatner and Nimoy for $75, though.

I dont know what parallel universe you live in.. but they are all covered pretty damn well in the media.. McCoy -DeForest Kelly is dead.. and so is Scotty- James Doohan (as is Roddenberry) BTW... The rest of them have been subjects of various news and documentaries etc.. in fact all of em save Scotty and McCoys voices were actually on an episode of the cartoon FURTURAMA as the trek charachters and they were mentioned and potrayed.. )
So again i dont know what parallel universe you live in.. did you ever see the documentery how William Shatner changed the universe? Every one in it thats still alive was in it..
You cant swing a dead cat with out hitting Trek something or other.. What? you living with Osama Bin laden in a cave and dont have cable??

The actors that played McCoy and Scotty are dead. Shatner was roasted not too long ago on Comedy Central, and a lot of the old cast was in attendence. He does lots of bit parts in movies and does commercials. He is also a writer. Leonard Nimoy (Spock) writes and directs.

Kirk. Shatner replaced into the worlds worst. If not for Spock, he might have been a lowly yeoman. Uhura replaced into large without asserting a be conscious. Sulu replaced into too various a flake to be on a Starship, yet Scotty replaced into continuously solid for some laughs, and yet another group member that replaced into continuously saving Kirks William Maxwell Aitken.

If my husband was awake he'd know the answers...but I do know that Scotty and Dr. McCoy have both passed away.
