Ha, not sure about that site but most auction sites have some strange and bizarre things up for auction - notably ebay from what I've seen as they have so much traffic. You can check across multiple auction sites with http://www.auctionalfie.com which might save you time searching.

Are you referring to sites that provide reverse auction platforms? Priceline was the trailblazer in the early days. If you search the term, 'reverse auction', you will get many results. here is one site that appears legit:
