Hi, I am a doctor in "What Americans Know About Ethics" and, according to my research, the Americans know about ethics as much as the other people in other countries know.

We know a lot about Ethics. Each profession has it's own individual Ethics code. I am a Social Worker and I do have to conduct my behavior according to the law of the land, as well as of the code of ethic in the field of Social Work.
So do all the millions of American's that work in different professions. I think we all work under moral, values and ethics that we hold dear. Also our religious point of view tells us what we should do or shouldn't do . I hope that this answers your question.
Alah, must excuse my counter parts who attack you cause you submit that question!
However, I do agree on certain degree. Why are Muslims not attenting to the same degree of ethics? Why are Muslims dicecting the Korean as they seem to see it fit them?
Why are Muslim's lashing out against human kind? Why are Muslims wanting the world to bow before them and push the world to seek the Muslim faith? Why are Muslim s not understanding of other peoples faith? If you can honestly answer any of my question, perhaps than you truly know the answer to "What is Ethics.:"

Ethics are rules of conduct, defined separately for each profession or organization.
Many people seem to think there is one universal set of ethics, but the closest is the broad ethical paradigms (utilitarian, etc.) that are used to generate specific ethical codes.
Ethics are often also confused with morals, but those are based impliclty on religion or cultural heritage.

the best way to answer wud be to define ethics, as Socrates went after definition but in today's world ,there cannot be one defnition for the word ethics. What i can say is that in the view of the non american people, americans are ethical in their day to day lives but not in their political lives( the U.S israel relationship and their continuous lack of support for palestinians, either financial or otherwise, holds true even today.)When any government, whether American or African, shows a double standard in its dealings with other countries, it can be said to be behaving in an unethical way.As for the attack on Muslims by nvnberzerk or somebody, sir, u need to get ur facts together. The crusades were started by the Christians, and they literally slaughtered everyone who came in their way, even women and children.Terrorists have no religion , plz remember this the next time u attack a religion that taught the world the meaning of peace. The Charter of Human Rights (U.N) has everything in it taught by Islam.

depends on the stakes. What wouldn't you do for 50 million dollars, what wouldn't you do for 50 dollars. Would Americans kill for 50,000 thousand, and would Americans kill for the thrill, would Americans waste another country for McDonald's? In short: American values, and ethics may have a problem. American Ethics maybe an oxymoron.
Then we send a flotilla of aircraft to Iran to give them tents and food when the quakes roll over their cities. We send our people to help in Pakistan, with a Muslim population of murderous disposition towards the USA. We donate the national treasure to help with Tsunami relief. We get accused of causing the disaster. In Belize we are accused of harvesting baby parts for our medical benefit. We would also like to turn Tehran into a parking lot. We have issues. Go figure.

We know much, but do little because there are such things on our walls called mirrors. You could also change your question to, "What does the world know about ethics?"

Alaa A =) . Your continuous postings of anti-american questions is almost laughable. Once again you give no examples, as always. Why don't you go grab the american propaganda magazine/website/whatever you must have tons of, and find specific examples, to go along with your generalized rediculous questions. How about we all ask you, "what do muslims know about the value of human life". I mean after all, it is your kind who goes suicide killing others because they are infadels "non believers" of your religion. What kind of God do you pray to that wants you to kill yourself and others? Oh, and your killing yourself for JIHAD thing...There are no fourty virgins waiting for you, sorry to burst your bubble :P

Why do you take the actions or words of a few and attribute them to an entire population? Isn't that rather unethical?
