Did u use some email client to mail it or used outlook?

If in case u used outlook, then u have a option call "recall", where u can modify or delete the message u sent.. and that if the recipient has not read the mail.If u wanna more details on that pls feel free to ask... I dont know bout other email clients like yahoo, hotmail, gmail, rediff etc.

You can't if you are using SMTP (Outlook, Yahoo, Hotmail, and other free email services).

The recall option in Outlook can only be done if you are in the Exchange environment / Office environment where there is a mail server somewhere in the company. There are also rules for this recall function to work.
1. The person hasn't opened / checked his/her email yet
2. The person will be notified that you have recalled the message.

You can't
It's sent, off of your machine and onto a server where you have no control and then downloaded by someone else where you also have no control.
Always tpye your message and save it as a draft, look at it a day later and then send it if you still have to.

if it had been sent the mail cannot be taken back but if it still stays in your outbox just delete it and it will intereupt the sending progress.
