We did and wished we had not. The water/moisture/humidity in the bathroom does not go good with engineered hardwood.
We were told by the sales person that it was ok but it didn't work out. We are ready to pull it or tile over it.

I am assuming this would include a laminate type construction, like a thin strip of genuine hardwood laminated on some press board type material.
and it is a floating type floor.
if this is the case there is a glue/sealant you can put in the tongue and groove to seal out the water.
If this is more of a hardwood that is nailed down (toe nailed each strip) I do not have much experience in that.

I strongly advise against this we had laminate wood flooring in our kitchen and our dishwasher leaked, ruining all the flooring. also when you mop this kind of flooring, if you have just the slightest bit of too much water you can not wipe it up quick enough. this flooring swells and buckles very quickly. So the steam from the shower alone could cause it to buckle.

We have wood laminate in our bathroom but no children at home to soak the floor.
