Health officials say that smoking decreases a mans sperm count and makes it harder for a woman to concieve, but, I see a lot of smokers and drug users with children..and I means a bus load of them. I've been trying for 2 years with no luck. I've stopped smoking cigarettes but, my husband still smokes. what is the problem?

You sound a little resentful. I am a smoker and had no trouble conceiving. I DO NOT have a bus load of children. I can't comment on drugs since I don't use them, but regarding smoking, ask your doctor and do some research. As with anything, there are exceptions to the rule and if I am one of those exceptions, I am grateful that I am blessed with 4 beautiful children. Good Luck with your conceiving. I am sure it will happen for you too.

To be honest, I am as confused as you are. My job has me in a lot of contact with heroin users who supposedly have troubles ovulating when they are on the gear, and you would be blown away by the amount of babies they all have and how easily they get pregnant. For someone trying to conceive it can be extremely frustrating, especially when you think you are doing the right thing.

I've had so many tests done and the doctor says my insides are perfectly okay and I should be able to get and stay pregnant easily. That was over a year ago.

i found out my sister-in-law ended up pregnant finally after trying for 3 years. i, as well, ended up pregnant after trying for a year. i was also a smoker then. true, it is harder for a woman to concieve because the cervix hardens. however, there are chances that ovulation times are more important. i have only been with my husband for almost two years and never got pregnant once until he came home for mid-tour leave from iraq. then i ended up pregnant. sometimes, for a man, holding off from ejaculating can help. for a woman, checking her ovulation peaks and temperature can help the chances of getting pregnant. so read up on ovulation. there are ovulation calendars that are free online to see when your peak time is. once you find that out, have your man chill on doing anything sexual for a few days before your peak time, then - have at it. and also, relax during love making. sometimes all it takes is taking it slow in order to get results.

My husband smokes and Im 21 weeks. It took me 1 yr 11 months to get pregnant. It takes time and everyone is different. There could be many reasons you have not gotten pregnant yet. Have you tried taking prenatals? That is suppose to help along with having sex around the days your ovulating. Best wishes
