Since when did the movie show that the Spartans killed 100,000 Perisn troops? The fact of the matter is the Persians most likely numbered a few hundred thousand at best (ancient historians have a tendency to exaggerate the number of troops & causalties) - even then, many of the troops are not Persians but from satrapies under Persian rule.

You're right to some extent that history is not always accurate given that everyone, historians included, are not free from biasness. The best way to learn history is to read about the same events from 2 opposing historians to get a balanced view.

Nothing is fact, it is the way each individual perceives it. My mother always said. "Believe nothing of what you hear, and half of what you see":

So not only did you not see it originally, and you definitely did not hear it originally. So why are complaining about a movie. If you take a movie seriously then you most probably take life too seriously. Chill out, you will end up either with a cardiac problem, or an ulcer.

Just try to take everything, as it comes along and roll with the punches.

Have a good one.

As far as "what is real history", it depends on how you perceived everything that occurred, a few minutes ago till the beginning of time. That is real history, anything in the past. Got it??????

It's a movie. It's fantasy. While based in fact (the battle of Thermopylae), like all movies it changes things for entertainment purposes. Chill.

Dear oh dear.

The film "300" is as factual as "Star Wars"..........ie. not at all.

The plot line (as such it is) may be based on the battle of Thermopylae, but the film itself is largely drawn from the comic book story from Dark Horse Comics.......

So you are right - it is a film based on a comic.

Relax mate.........my people's (Greek) history has been mangled in just about every film it appears in. And I include this one in that as well.

You are full of ballony. That movie was based on historical fact.
"cradle and symbol of the civilization" give us a break. We're talking about Iran. The government of those people are lunatic savages who want the whole world to convert to islam. And if someone wont convert to their Satanic religion then they are to be put to death. Get real buddy and quit wearing your feelings on your sleeve
