4. In My Life - 2nd favorite john song. just beautiful. george martin played the piano solo. they sped it up to 2X speed to put on the record.

Ironic because they are all from the psychedelic era. Generally, I prefer listening to the early Beatles more. I never cared for a lot of their psychedelic stuff. The 'White Album' was a failure in my eyes. So was 'The Ballad of John & Yoko'. Now I don't believe that she broke up the Beatles, but it must have rankled the nerves of McCartney and Harrison to know that Lennon's wife was dictating the terms under which they made music together.
