6'1 is fine to me. I am very short, 5'0 (with shoes!!) and I like guys that tall. My friend is 6'11 and he married a girl who was only 5'2 and they are happier than ever.. so dont be self concious..

Believe it or not, there is a disorder that can cause the growth hormones to become hyperactive. This can cause the body to grow taller than most around you and taller than is genetically seen in your family. Its pretty rare but at your age you may have stopped growing. Nonetheless, you should bring this rare disorder to your doctor's attention and have the appropriate tests done. If you do have it, then it can cause problems to your organs even though your body may have reached its growth maximum.
Or you could just be tall. Either way, be proud of who you are! Your height is quite the norm for men in America and many other parts of the world but its understandable that you would feel awkward where its not the norm. Stand tall and be the best you that you can be!

I'm 6'3" and I have not seen any reason why girls would not like a man of above average height. It would probably be a good idea to stop being so over conscious of your height. Focus that emotion on better understanding how to talk to a girl. Don't pay any attention to your height difference. Look at it and treat it more like you have a gift. At least you can see around well in a crowd.

You shouldn't feel ashamed. Infact you can use your height to your advantage.
The average human has a tendency to perceive tall people as being in a position of power. While tall people don't necessarily feel this way, in fact many overtly tall people want to shrink into a small space and hide, people already think you are a confident person so you might as well act like one.

Dude, are you kidding me? All of the hottest girls in America are attracted to tall men! Anyone over 5' 10'' is considered good. Trust me I know because I am 6'. Plus, tall men do better in business and make more money, it's a fact. If you feel like you're too tall for your current environment, just move to where you will be appreciated!

theres nothing to be ashamed about your height, in fact a lot men in western countries would be taller than you. You have good posture and your healthy, that's what's important. of course girls like men who are taller than six foot. I don't know about other girls, but a guy's height never really comes into it for me. Although most girls like a man to be taller than them, so their you go, thats an advantage. I hope you know you have nothing to feel bad about yourself for.

I am presently working with the Indian navy. They bought one of our old ships (USS Trenton) now named INS JALASHVA. Captain Ahluwalia , a Sikh, is a very tall and imposing man. With his bright white turban and gold insignia, he seems to be even much larger (at least to this 5'5" retired Navy guy). He carries himself very well for such a tall man, yet he seems to be a kind and gentle person.
Be proud of your height. I'm sure lots of women will look up to you (no pun intended).
Signed A SHORT GUY, BUT PROUD!

We cannot help you to stop feeling ashamed, but...I know many men who are ashamed they are on the shorter end of the spectrum. They woul gladly trade bodies with you, if they could.
