You can't. If you can access a password, then it eliminates the whole point of having it in the first place.

That's like working and when you get your paycheck, you rip it up.

if you have administrator privileges on another account you can access the default system account in the following manor. Go to the start menu and select "run". Type in "cmd.exe" and click "ok". At the command prompt that comes up type in (at 00:00 /interactive "command.com") replacing the 00:00 for a future time. (ex. if it is 3:23pm you could type 15:24... it uses military time). After that you wait for the time that you put in to come and another command prompt should pop up. Close your previous command prompt because you are finished with it and hit Ctrl-Alt-Del. Select the "processes" tab in the Windows Task Manager and then find the "explorer.exe" process. end this process. As soon as you have ended it go to your command prompt and type in "explorer.exe" and hit enter. After you have done this when you click on the start menu you should see it say "SYSTEM" at the top where the user's name usually is. You are now logged on under the default system administrator account and should be able to reset/change other user passwords

Howzit!!

If you have other accounts with Administrator privilages there is no need to make use of the Administrator account.

As far as I know there is no method of reseting the password or retrieving it if its the "default" Windows XP Administrator account...

I hope everything goes well, cheers!!

There are programs you can download that will reset the administrator password. Or, if you have another account with administrator privliges, you can reset the password from that account.

best solution is to re-format your computer. please do not download any software to crack you administrator account password as this may damage your system. So before reformatting just save all your files and important documents on your computer
