Which kind of scare moive is more horrible?

There are two kinds of famous scare moive, one from South Korea and Japan, the other from U.S and Europe. Which is more terrible?

If you look at horror movies from the East, they are mostly supernatural in nature (i.e. ghosts, evil spirits). It is because Easterners have strong philosophical and cultural beliefs about ghosts and spirits of people who have died.

In contrast, Western horror movies are mostly about zombies or people who are criminally deranged. Westerners don't really put much stock into ghosts (successful Hollywood horror films like Sixth Sense and The Grudge don't count because they were created by or based on Easterners). To Westerners, the notion that humans can harm fellow humans in sick ways is more horrible. Ghosts are mostly considered nonexistent or harmless. One exception is movies regarding spirit possession, which is based on religious Christian beliefs revolving around biblical accounts of possession and exorcism.

As for your question on which is more horrible, it would depend on what things scare you personally. As an Easterner, I am personally scared more by ghost movies like the original Japanese version of The Ring.

Based on the above premise, I think a movie like What Lies Beneath which combines the horrors of the evil plotting of a man's mind and restless spirits would appeal to Westerners and Easterners alike.

The american and european horror movies are awsome (not all offcourse), the Japanese i find alway have some white girly gost in them and eary screaming, with could be scary too. So it depends on what you like, gruesome murder/demons or ghosts.

I think it's from U.S and Europe.. It's also about murder, murder, and murder.. There's only 3 or 4 gosht movie.. If in Asia there are many kind of gosht so it's kind a scare..

having seen very few horror movies other than U.S. films my preference runs to them. the only non american horror films i've seen are the grude and the brotherhood of the wolf.
