Can someone please tell what the difference is between an iPod and an MP3 player? Is there a difference? Better brand of iPod to buy? Average price for a new one? Best place to buy one?

Ipod is itself an MP3 player. Ipod is just a brand name and it is the founder of this technology. Although it was very first MP3 player in the market, it is yet THE BEST in the technology by far.
All IPods are good (genuine ones) it all depends on your requirement and budget what type you want.
It ranges from 80 gb to 1gb and price ranges from $79 to $249

Best place to buy a product is the maker's shop :)

Best of luck

Ipod is just a brand of mp3 players, you're paying more just for the name brand. I bought a 1 gig mp3 player on sale from $70 to $35. You can find good deals on mp3 players, you just need to look around. Plus, look for deals at Best Buy, they always have deals. look online for sure!
