Yahoo is very popular all over the world. Russia is not the exceptions. I have been using yahoo for quite several years there, I'm here in the US now and still use it.
But mail.ru is more popular of course, as not everyone knows English. :0)

I am Russian and be sure it is true..yahoo mail is available in Russia... Btw I use it....just I wonder why you think it might be not...strange...we are not savage people...and only stupid people think that Russia is barbarian country where bears are walking along streets etc.
