If a person has sentenced to jail means, diffinetly he must have done some mistake. It does not mean he is unfit to live with the community. He is also a human like me and you, he also deserve to live and work as others, after completing his term. If the person is habitual offender then it is different, his permanent home should be jail. But majority of people, are not habitual. In my town there is a Doc who murdered his wife ( ido not want to explain why ?). Judge awarded him 14 years of imprisonment. But in jail he realised his mistake, presently he is treating his mates in jail, now in his 2nd year, even jail staff and cops has started consulting him. They now have provided a small OT at the premises, to do minor operations. Do you really belive this ?

I suggest you one thing, take an appointment with the superintendent of a jail near to you, communicate with inmates. Being an outsider definitely they explain their story to you, check yourself how much and how many of them are regretting. consolidate your research, and come to your own conclusion.

You can also publish your experience, in local print media. Let other people also aware what really happening.

Marriotte. The catering business is filled with excons. Corporate cafetaria, baseball parks, and other places that sells low quality food to the masses. THere is a job shortage in the lower income scale. I think some companies like to hire Ex-cons like they hire illegal immigrants. The employer can get away with treating both like trash. If they complain, their easy to get rid of. If the Ex-cons sue, who are you going to believe.

Having a felony record can keep them from working certain jobs or fields, but not all of them. They can still find gainful employment somewhere, even if it's ditch-digging on the side of a highway, at least it pays. If it keeps them from their dream job, I guess they should have thought about that before committing the felony that landed them in prison in the first place.

That really depends on what they've done in terms of crime, what they're trained to do as far as career, and what they want to do for work.

I think that more often than not people can and do overcome the stigma from incarceration, provided that they haven't done something terribly haenis, are willing to start small and work their way up, and are selective but transparent about their past. (they don't hide or deny it, but they don't broadcast it).

I think alot of people put a bullseye on their own head when they finish they're time, what I've found is that often it's more of a big deal for you than it is for most others, because most others don't have a frame of reference to understand it.

here is the thing, our system has evolved to bleed & suck as much money as possible for as long as they can to fund the warmachine, its not about branding you as an outcast its about tagging you as someone who may have slipped up & is now trapped, the best thing to do is play their game until restitution & parole/probation is done then hire an advocate/lawyer to go before a judge & have your records exponged which costs more money, that is the key to freedom in this country CASH MONEY look at all the celebs & athletes who bought a court, judge & jury

Ex-convicts can still be hired and it is the discretion of employers because there is no prohibition under the law.
