I have a new install of Windows XP SP2 and never set a password for it. Now whenever somebody tries to access my PC via LAN, they get a password request. I've disabled firewall, antivirus and spam filter to no avail. Is there a workaround without having to re-install XP

I certainly have been having a similar concern for the final 2 days to boot. in case you run this question by Google, you will see many people are having a similar project, so ti would desire to be some thing happening @ Yahoo. i'm a top classification consumer and use the Plus settings. I certainly have rechecked my settings, re-entered the password, all to no avail. i attempted the default settings of one hundred ten/25 and on a similar time because it logged into the POP3 server only wonderful, i became no longer able to effectively deliver e mail while using the try Account Settings function. (favourite, my firewall is obstructing outbound 25) After 2-3 minutes of waiting for it to technique, i ended it and clicked the SSL button, which replaced it to 995/465. This time it failed in decrease than 30 seconds. I then replaced the SMTP port to 587 and it worked. For now. i visit maintain you published.
