I think anything that makes another person feel intimidated or frighened can be classed as severe bullying. It can happen at home, school; work or just walking down the road. it could be something as simple as a doctor making you feel stupid for worrying about nothing, but when something serious is wrong you feel too embarrassed or afraid to then consult your gp the next time. You don't have to be severely beaten to be the victim of bullying. I had a friend an older lady and because of her weight she was victimised by a group of teenagers, she lost confidence in everyone and had to move from her home, because she could not even get on the local bus without being intimidated. She was once a happy go luck lady and now she is not even a fraction of her old self. I really wish that the people who inflict such pain to others, would stop and think for one minute how they would feel if this was their family and friends or even better theirselves. it is not powerful to bully someone else it is cowardice. Sorry!! i will now step off of my soap box.

This must depend on how the victim feels.
Different people would class the severity in different ways. What some victims class as severe others may not.
In any case all forms and degrees of bullying are unacceptable

Severe bullying causes targets of bullying to display clear physical and psychological symptoms of distress.
The physical symptoms identified by the study were : headaches, stomachache, backache, and dizziness. The psychological symptoms identified were: bad temper, feeling nervous, feeling low, difficulties in getting to sleep, morning tiredness, feeling left out, lonliness, and helplessness. The researchers also found that because of the increasing role played by peer relationships, young adults are especially susceptible to health effects of bullying.

anything that hurts you personally or makes you feel bad about yourself. If someone is hurting you, let an adult you trust know. It could get worse if it keeps up. The more he gets away with it the worse it will get. If he threatens you because you tell, tell again. The only way to stop a bully is to let him know he can't intimidate you. He may beat you up a few times but when he sees it doesn't work with you, or you stand up to him, he will move on

I would think severe bullying would include daily harassment. It would also be to the point where the victim hated going to school or work...maybe even having thoughts of suicide. It''s tragic.

Harassment is synonymous with severe bullying where the threat is achieved and the victim was in fact harassed.

I think being held down and having bullies sexually assault a much younger person at school, being beat up and spit upon would qualify. But this is sadly comming from personal experience. But fret not, I'm much tougher now, and those people are either in jail or dead so it worked out.

Once the victim starts crying I guess. . .but any bullying should be reported regardless of how "severe" it is or else it could continue into something bigger
