I was accused of shoplifting in a mall once. I was stopped by security and escorted to an office, where they had me take off my coat and empty all of my pockets only to find I didn't take a thing. It was rather embarrassing as I've never stolen a thing in my life. It was a case of mistaken identity, they were looking for someone similar.

We all have been wrongly accused for something at some time. There have been a few times where I did it myself. Not a good feeling on either end. As long as they are respectful and apologize I dont worry about it. As for the police some instance do justify saying that. Sometimes they dont let you know why. But by the end of the day you know your right and a sence of feeling that your ethics are better that someone elses means alot to me and i hope you too.

I've worked with several other people who've had this occur.

The cases involved claims like driving while drunk (just sleepy) to carrying illegal weapons (they were fake stage props).

I personally have been falsely accused of lying, by people who never bothered to check the sources that I was quoting.
