Hey everyone.
I have a sociology essay due within the next few weeks and the requirement is that you have to write 3 social charecteristics about yourself. My friends were thinking bout religion,music and fashion tastes ect ect i just wanted to see if you guys had any better ideas... im stumped!!Thanks

Social factors: gender, race, ethnicity, educational goals, family situation (single parent raised you, parents divorced etc.) and social class... these things that are easily discussed and elaborated on... plus soc. profs would love you for taking on the 'big picture'
Try to write as if you are analyzing your 'life chances' as a case study... how did you end up where you are today... with those three factors...( ex. C Wright Mills sociological imagination)

maybe write about your gender. who you're expected to be and what sort of qualities you're supposed to possess because of the gender you are. that could be interesting. you could probably blend music and fashion tastes into one, and talk about how it's influenced by the media.

funny, i'm planning a sociology unit/lesson at the moment, maybe i'll assign an essay as well, anyway...religion is good, i suggest political affiliation and cultural background.

Whatever your gender, how about "switching" it for this paper and try writing it based on how the other gender might see you. Or write it as if you were the other gender. Might be interesting.
