Man there are alot of Kobe haters. Kobe was asked by Phil Jackson to attack more and Lamar and Luke are to be the ones dishing the ball. Lakers were down in Portland and about to lose 8 straight, so Kobe did what Kobe does, help his team win. Instead of seeing how spectacular 65 points is, everyone just dubs him a ball hog almost brainlessly -_- And today, what else is kobe supposed to do, his god dam team won't play defense. How else does the WORST team in the NBA score 119 points. The lakers are desperate and they need a leader to set the tone. Gilbert Arenas is what you call a ball hog, someone who wants 2 chuck up 50 against phoenix just for his own selfish interests. Kobe just doesn't want to lose so he listened to his coach and scored 50 3 times in a row, but haters are haters. None of the haters even seem to remember the kobe that was sharing the ball the whole season.

Heck yeah bro. Kobe is the best to play B-ball. I don't know why people say that he's a ball hog. His percentage is high and when he scores over 50, the Lakers are like 30 and 7 or something. He held back when he had a championship team, now he's doing what he has to to help his team win and stay in the playoffs. He is the best! 3 50+ games in a row. He is up there with some crazy names. Now, Bekham is good, I don't think he's the best ever, but he is the best in MLS now!!!

Kobe is a great player, without a doubt a future Hall of Famer. However, he is always going to be seen as a ballhog since, rightly or wrongly, he is blamed for Shaq's departure and the subsequent decline of the Lakers. He can drop 60 on the Blazers and the Grizzlies, but what can he do against the Mavericks, the Spurs, or the Pistons? If he can't figure out how to get more out of Lamar, Smush, Kwame, and Bynum, they're going out quick in the first round.

A ball hog is someone who gets big scoring figures after he keeps chucking it up and missing. Not Kobe. He makes shots and he makes them count.
Look at the current Lakers lineup and tell me if you see anyone else who looks like a scorer. Lamar isn't much of a scorer even if you gave him the ball. He averages less than 20 points every single season even when he wasn't playing alongside Kobe. That's why Kobe has to take control. He has to take the shots cause no one else can.

If you all are going to slurp Kobe, that's fine. He's a great player...

BUT GET YOUR STATS RIGHT (and know them too)

1- Kobe is 21st in assists, not 20th. No big deal... give you a pass.

here's the truth (and ask anybody who has played and see what a coach would say)

2- Assist:TO ratio is WAY more important than just AST.
WHY? Because if you dish 10 and give away 10, you haven't helped your team.

That said, Kobe's AST:TO is 1.6 which is 133rd in the NBA.

Not saying this makes him a bad player. He handles the ball so much it makes sense that he turns it over alot.

BUT DON'T TRY TO MAKE THE MAN A DISTRIBUTOR.

He's a scorer. A great scorer. But he's not out there dropping dimes all over the place.

Please give Kobe a break. Shooting all of those shots were not just his idea but Phil's. All plays are set for him to score. Luke and Lamar were used as the passers to Kobe and those stuff. The season is about to end, Kobe as the leader, is doing what he does best, and that is to score. Please look at the statistics, By the way, Kobe is ranked number 20 in assists, so there would be hundreds more ballhog than him.

1- Kobe is 21st in assists, not 20th. No big deal... give you a pass.

OK, today he is 21st in assists, yesterday he is 20th. That was my basis. And please don't just make others look stupid. Still you're pointing out that Kobe is still a ballhog? The question is about Kobe being ballhog, giving a fine number of assist proves something else. Peace!!!

I don't watch professional basketball anymore, but when I did, Kobe Bryant always hogged the basketball, and at that time, the Lakers were even my favorite team. If they lose 7 in a row because he starts passing, then they aren't a very good team.

One person scoring so many points shows that the team is not good at all, because a team is supposed to work together. That is what I hate about most professional sports. If a team wins or does well, it is normally only credited to one person.

The Lakers need Kobe to score a lot right now until they get healthy. Lamar, Kwame and Luke are not yet at full strength. Let them distribute for now and who cares who gets the points as long as they are winning.Kobe just does whatever it takes.

Last time I checked Kobe isn't the point guard right? He is the...ok we all ready for this....SHOOTING GUARD. He is averaging 30.5 Pts 5.7 Reb 5.5 Ast per game. What is wrong with 5.5 apg as the shooting guard. He's doing what it takes for his team to start winning again and Phil wants him to. BTW. Shaq ran himself out wanting over $20 mil/year still. It was both of their egos though that didn't work, not just one of them. We are making a run at KG this summer and hopefully we get him. When did Kobe say he was going to be the next MJ? It's always ESPN who says every few years this person is going to be the next MJ. Kobe is Kobe and is going to go down as probably one of the top 10 players when his career is over.

I don't hate Kobe, he just thought he would be the next MJ and there is no one out there who can be MJ!

He needs more help around him like MJ did so that when he does pass the ball around, the others can score. Currently the rest of the Lakers are weak let's face it - they suckkkk! Maybe if Kobe didn't run Shaq off, he would have another ring too....
