The very definition of sacrifice means you give up something in order to get something else. It doesn't have to be something good. Think of sacrificing your health by gaining a Big Mac everyday for lunch. You could also sacrifice the Big Macs and gain your health. Doesn't always have to be good nor does it have to be anything essentially bad.
