No, don't do it unless you know exactly what the likely effects will be.

There are two types of vitamins water soluble vitamins, which cannot be produced by the body and you therefore need to take those vitamins on a daily basis. Any excess that the body doesn't need simply gets excreted in your urine. I don't really think the person on here who says they are a Registered Nurse is quite awake at the moment because the B complex group of vitamins, which includes B12, are water soluble and any excess would be excreted in your urine.

The second type are fat soluble, such as Vitamin A, and requires fats as well as minerals to be properly absorbed by your digestive tract. These vitamins can be stored in your body and need not be replenished on a daily basis.

News broadcasts recently that reported that people were getting very sick from doubling up on their vitamins, were actually talking about people who were taking megamega overdoses of the Fat Soluble Vitamins such as Vitamin A . These vitamins can cause severe symptoms if abused/taken irresponsibly. Just as an example: symptoms of vitamin A excess include hair loss, nausea, vomiting diarrhea, scaly skin, blurred vision, rashes, bone pain, irregular menses, fatigue, headaches and liver enlargement !! Not very nice hey??

Seriously, if you want to be healthier then you would be far better advised eating the fresh whole natural foods rather than extra vitamin intake. That is always the best way to achieve optimal health anyway.......... :0)

No it does not make you healthier. You could run the risk of overdosing on the vitamins. Some Vitamins like B 12 and others can be toxic to you if you take to much. That is way they have a recommended daily allowance for Vitamins.

dont double up.
too much of certain vitamins can be unsafe.
remember you're also getting vitamins and minerals from the food you eat too along with the vitamins.

No you cannot double up on vitimains as you could overdose on certain ones. Some are water soluable and some aren't. You might want to consider switching to a brand that is better absorbed by the body though.
