Why is it ok for a woman to slap a man, but not a man slap a woman? Why do men have to buy a woman a huge diamond and pay for dates, but women aren't expected to pay for anything? Why is it ok to use race as a basis for hiring or college scholarships for minorities? Scholarships for hispanics, blacks, and any other race is ok, but a white-only scholarship[ would be racist. It's ok for a minority comedian to make fun of white people, but now white people to make fun of minorites.

The person who has more power has to be more careful with it.
Men are generally stronger and larger than women, and hence more likely to do worse damage if they hit a woman. That said, it's certainly not the case that women can't get into just as much trouble hitting a man as vice-versa. If a man can prove to the cops that a woman has assaulted him, she will be taken to jail. (I know; I've seen it done.)
Men have traditionally been expected to pay for the engagement ring and the honeymoon, while women must pay for the wedding. Weddings can get quite expensive, in case you haven't checked. As for dates, it is often the person who asked the other out who pays, man or woman. In other situations, they split the check. At least that's how it happens in my neck of the woods.
Minorities have historically been disadvantaged, and whites still control the majority of the economic power in this country. People tend to hire or give jobs to friends or people they know. Also, people tend to be friends with people of their own race. Hence, without equal opportunity rules of any kind, a much larger percentage of jobs would go to whites than to blacks, regardless of who is better suited for the job, because the white people hiring would probably end up hiring mostly whites.
It's perfectly fine for white people to make fun of minorities, so long as he does not purposely insult them, and vice-versa.

Good question, I think since most men naturally are physically stronger than most women, a man being slapped by a woman is seen in society as ok since "he can handle it." the other way around is taboo since a woman that is naturally physically weaker being slapped looks like a cheap shot. It is also important in nature that the men in most animal species become providers and protectors. Humans follow this trait and so buying an expensive diamond reassures the woman that the man can take care of her financially. Lastly, it is not Ok for people to make fun of white people or anyrace for that matter and for special scholarships for any race. Education should only be handed out to the qualified regardless of race or financial situation.

Men historically have been the providers for women. Even though women want to be treated equal, some refuse to see that this continued expectations of 'what you need to provide for me' conflicts this. As far as the slapping, I guess most don't see how a woman is really a threat to men physically.
Affirmative action does not guarantee a "minority" a job only a chance at getting it, and it helps out "white" women too. This whole notion of "racism doesn't exist anymore" is pretty funny since an Internet study showed companies turning down applicants who they thought had a "black" name. Most black comedians make wayyy more degrading comments about blacks, but no one seems concerned about that. Don't worry, this whole "blacks are really the racist ones and whites aren't" thing is gaining momentum and should take care of that. Whites might even get to make fun of minorities again!!! Happy?!?!

What is OK is determined by society. If a majority of people disapprove of something, it is not acceptable to society. Many people disagree with society's standards, which are rooted in tradition that may or may not be outdated. Traditions change slowly, the world changes quickly. That is why we have these antiquated practices.

- because white people have been pushing other races around way too much
- because men have been pushing women around way to much
- because it's a gentlemanly thing to do... since woman from earlier times dont make money
- because people can make fun of themselves, but when you do it... it WILL sound racist... and it probably will be...
- because people feel that white people OWE other races something... and it's probably true
