I'm 17 and haven't gained any height since I was really 14, and I've gone from weighing 85 pounds my sophmore year to 80 my junior and now that I'm a senior, I only weigh about 78 pounds. I'm 5'0". Is there something wrong with me or is this ok for me? I've always been small for my age.

Despite not having insurance, you should really see a doctor. My son is a healthy SEVEN year old and he weighs 71 pounds. You're weight at your age is definatly not healthy. I don't mean to scare you, it's probably not anything serious, but it could become so if you don't gain some weight. Be smart about it though. Don't fill up on junk.

there could be something wrong. is there any reason you might have lost weight? become more active or eating less maybe? if the weight loss is totally unexplained you need to see a doctor about it, it could be a sign of something more serious. if it is explainable, like you just took up dance classes your juniour year or something, then you're probably ok. you should really try and get your weight up to 90 at least though. don't do it by eating junk (of course). eat your protein and try some weight training excercises to build muscles. it'll put u at a healthier weight and you'll have a nice toned, shapely physique. good luck!

As long as you know that your not doing anything different with your diet and you feel fine... I think your OK. I think it is pretty normal for each persons weight to go up and down in about a 5 lb range, especially during certain times of the month etc. If you know that this is your natural weight then dont worry about it! I was very naturally thin person most of my life until I had kids etc. I got teased about it alot and people made comments about me being anorexic etc. but I knew I was not doing anything to cause me to be that thin, it was just who I was! I learned to deal with it and people dont realize that making jokes about someone being thin is just as hurtful as making fun of a fat person. If you notice any changes in your appetite or feel unhealthy then you should go to the doctor!

The fact that you are losing weight indicates something is going on. You need to see your doctor and get checked out. I am surprised though that your doc didn't notice your weight loss when you had your yearly physical all this time.

yes, something is wrong and you should see a doctor. Theres no way a damn near adult should weigh that. You should atleast be in the upper 90s.
